Gambela National Park

Gambella National park is found in the west of Ethiopia. It is the large area of swaps and wet lands, grassland, and wooded savannah, and contains many species which are more typical of Sudan rather than other areas of Ethiopia. The park boasts mammals like elephant, buffalo and lion, as well as roan antelope, tiang, Lelwel hartebeest, olive baboon and guereza monkey. However, these animals are extinct rapidly due to the Sudanes refugee and resettlements case the park is not protected well.
In the wetlands the parks several birds are inhabited. Birds like paradise whydah, the lovely red throated and little green bee-eaters, as well as black faced firefinch, red necked buzzared, Egyptian plover, African skimmer and several localized birds.
The park lies along the Baro river which is very significant river in the country. Of course the park is not well developed but it is a large conservation area and it is a typical tropical zone and here all the African Safaris are to be existed.
The Nile perch weighing over 100kg and has been caught in the waters of the Baro, and huge crocodiles thrive here on such fare.
