Tour to Historic route by Flight & Danakil Depression for 13 Days / 12 Nights

Day 01: Arrive in Addis Ababa and meet our representatives and transfer to hotel Overnight: Jupiter international Hotel (4*)

Day 02: In the morning, Transfer to the airport and fly to Bahirdar; ET 126 at 07:30.After check in to the hotel, set out for a boat trip on Lake Tana to see beautiful island monasteries and their valuable treasures which include biblical wall paintings, crowns of different Ethiopian Kings, ancient illuminated parchment books, superb croses etc. In the afternoon, you drive to the magnificent Blue Nile Falls. It is about 400 meter wide with full flood (in June, July and August to mid September). Overnight: Arba Minich lodge

Day 03: In the morning, drive to Gondar. Then, tour of Gondar which includes the visit the Royal Enclosure with its magnificent castles dated from the 17th and 18th century (world heritage site), the bath of king Fasiledes, the remarkable church of Debrebrihan Selassie with its breathtaking 17th century wall and ceiling paintings. Overnight: Goha Hotel

Day 04: Transfer to the airport and fly to Lalibela by ET 122 at 08:45. After check in to the hotel visit the first and second groups of King Lalibela's 12th.C.Rockhewn churches (World Heritage Site). Although all of these churches are carved out of huge blocks of rocks, each of them displays unique architectural features from the other. Overnight: Mountain view Hotel

Day 05: In the morning, finalize visiting the second group of King Lalibela's rock hewn churches. Then, transfer to the airport to fly to Axum by ET122 at 09:40. In Axum (world heritage site), visit the famous stele park with its ancient huge monolithic obelisks, ruined palaces of different Axumite kings including that of the ruined Palace the Queen of Sheba, ancient stone inscriptions, subterranean tombs, the small but rich archeological site museum of Axum and the church of St. Mary of Zion where the original Ark of the Covenant is believed to be housed etc. Overnight: Yeha Hotel

Day 06: Finalize your visit of Axum and drive to Mekelle En-route visits the ancient Temple of Yeha (5th. C.BC), and continue to towards Gherelata cluster of Rock churches to visit some selected Tigray Rock Churches based on their architectural and painting qualities. These churches include Abreha Atsbeha and Wukro Cherkoes churches. Overnight: Axum hotel

Day 07: Drive from Mekelle via Agula and Berhaile to Hamad Ela. At Berhaile organize the scouts finalize preparation for the desert tour e.t.c. overnight: Camping

Day 08: Drive to Dallol depression which is one of the lowest points on the earth which dips to -116 meters. Visit amazing rock formations and bubbling sulfur springs. Also, you visit the salt mines at Lake Asale, where salt bars are cut and prepared for camel transportation, return to Hamad Ela for a sight of fantastic camel caravans along the route. Overnight: Camping

Day 09: Drive to the typical Afar village of Kusawat (Dodom), from which we trek to the volcano. In the evening trek to the rim of the volcano during the night, you visit the drama of the active volcano of mount Ert Ale, in whose crater lays the only permanent lava lake in the world, and another volcano of bubbling lava. Overnight: Camping

Day 10: In the morning, trek back and meet the vehicle. Then, drive to Afrera, where the real desert of the Afar Depression comes to the end. Overnight: Camping

Day 11: In the morning, visiting the Afrera Salt Lake, you proceed to the town of Asaita/Semera via Logia. Overnight: Camping /Local hotel (Ert Ale)

Day 12: Drive across the territory of the Afar People to Awash national Park then, game drive in the Awash National Park to visit the thorny bushes of Awash National Park supports not only beautiful birds but also some mammals such as Beisa Oryx, Sommering’s Gazelle, Salt’s Dik Dik, Warthog, Black backed Jackal, Hamadriyas Baboon, Greater and Lesser Kudus . Overnight: Awash falls Lodge

Day 13: In the morning, finalize your visit of Awash National park and drive back to Addis Ababa. In the evening, you will be invited farewell dinner in one of the best traditional restaurants of the capital with a show of folkloric music and dances of the different Ethiopian people.
